International Clinical Oncology Congress — Tehran, July 2026
- Date: 2–3 July 2026
- Location: Tehran, Iran
- Venue: Heart Hotel, Rajaei Cardiovascular Institute
- Event type: Congress
The 20th International Clinical Oncology Congress brought together radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, neuro-oncology specialists, and industry leaders in Tehran on 2–3 July 2026. Hosted by the Iranian Society of Radiation Oncology at Heart Hotel, Rajaei Cardiovascular Institute, the congress featured scientific sessions, exhibition booths from leading pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, and professional networking across the full spectrum of clinical oncology.
About the Congress
The International Clinical Oncology Congress is one of Iran's foremost gatherings for clinicians and researchers working in cancer diagnosis, radiation therapy, medical oncology, and multidisciplinary tumour management. The 20th edition, held at Heart Hotel within the Rajaei Cardiovascular Institute complex in Tehran, drew specialists from across Iran and the international oncology community.
The two-day programme included plenary lectures, case discussions, and exhibition space for pharmaceutical innovators and medical device manufacturers — reflecting the collaborative nature of modern cancer care, where surgical, radiation, and medical approaches are integrated for optimal patient outcomes.
Iranian Society of Radiation Oncology
The congress was organised under the auspices of the Iranian Society of Radiation Oncology (ISRO), the national professional body advancing standards in radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and oncological imaging across Iran. ISRO's leadership in hosting this international meeting underscores the society's commitment to continuing medical education and cross-specialty dialogue in cancer treatment.
Exhibition areas featured booths from major oncology pharmaceutical companies and technology providers including Elekta, AstraZeneca, Sandoz, and leading Iranian pharmaceutical firms — offering attendees insight into the latest therapeutic agents, radiation platforms, and supportive care innovations.
Prof. Guive Sharifi's Participation
Prof. Guive Sharifi, board-certified neurosurgeon and Professor of Neurosurgery, attended the congress as part of his ongoing engagement with neuro-oncology and multidisciplinary tumour management. His presence at this clinical oncology meeting reflects the close relationship between neurosurgical oncology — including brain tumour surgery, skull base tumours, and spinal metastases — and the broader radiation and medical oncology community.
Collaboration between neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists is essential for patients with primary brain tumours, pituitary adenomas, and metastatic disease to the central nervous system. Prof. Sharifi's participation strengthens the bridge between surgical neuro-oncology and the radiation oncology specialists who deliver adjuvant and definitive radiotherapy across Iran and internationally.
